About Us:
TonikPlans is run by Medicoverage Inc., an independant, licensed health insurance agency. The company was formed after its founder, Eric Scheinbaum, broke his patella (knee bone) on a breakaway dunk in a fierce game of pickup basketball. Fortunately Eric had health coverage and the insurance company picked up the bulk of his medical expenses. His business partner, Chris Mihm, had just graduated from Business School and didn't have health insurance. He realized he would have been bankrupt if the same accident had happened to him (although Mihm couldn't dunk a ball if his life depended on it).

The two set about researching health insurance online and quickly found there were very few sites that explained how health insurance worked. They knew they could do it better, so they formed Medicoverage.com and www.tonikplans.com to assist young people who need to be covered but hate all the hassle and confusing jargon of health insurance.
